Imgsafe goes down a lot and I have many images never get recovered even though all got uploaded on my account I made there. Also doesn't really let you make folders or organize but Nickpic does let you make folders. And it has been nothing but reliable for me since I started using it.

And here I am, the bearer of bad news all over again.

Photobucket is turning into a serious cash grab and no longer allows 3rd party hosting unless you pay for an account. I lost several of my ad and button images because of this, so just a headsup that if you're on Photobucket, start moving your pictures to another, secure host.

Not just any paid account too, only the highest tier of their premium allows 3rd party hosting. And that one is priced at $399.99 a year. So yeah, if anyone has images on there, make sure you have copies saved!

I just can't believe they're going that route - Nobody in their right mind is going to spend 400 dollars a year for a bloody hobby.

fortunately, from what i've seen, if you click one of their notices that replaces your hotlinked image, it takes you to that image on their site. so nothing will be lost, but all images will obviously need to be reuploaded elsewhere and the links replaced!

i would take this time again to recommend nickpic, a service meant for roleplayers (and only for us), made free by the owner/staff team. they created their host in response to this exact issue of image hosts cutting off our community, and have been extremely responsive in handling any issues that come up with their services. http://i.imgur.com/lnW2yfS.gif

i mean, photobucket was already kind of shifty since they had the whole "they have the right to use your content and profit from it" thing in their tos so in that sense, doesn't surprise me

just going to add for anyone who is unaware, again, site images on proboards and jcink can both be hosted directly on their servers through the jcink file manager or proboards' skin images function in themes. so aff buttons and ad images (as well as any skin images such as backgrounds, board description images, and so on) can be directly hosted there and solve that problem.

also going to recommend that on the other side of the fence for anyone who's just not good with coding, if you have issues with aff buttons resizing since photobucket's replacing the images with a massive ugly image, just add width ="88px" height="31px" inside the image html so it's laid out similar to <img src="URLHERE" width="88px" height="31px"> and you'll force it to size back down to proper size. works for this and any other button image issue. just make sure you don't delete anything from the a tag since otherwise you lose the link

Just want to let you guys know, if you don't already, that Imgbox is closing down. so if you don't already know, you may want to save any images you have stored there before they are lost forever.

As the first post states, Nickpick.host is a great service. And I don't just say that because I am biased, as Nick is a good friend of mine as well as me being a staff member there. LOL

Good morning, Caution.

I am Nick. Thank you all for recommending my host, I appreciate it. It is true, I and a few friends that are roleplayers created this after the Imgur fiasco of blocking all direct links. We heard the news about Imgbox, Gifyu, Flickr banning persons hotlinking, Tumblr changing URLs on you, I.Minus, ImgBox, ImageBam, and a few others are shutting down. Photobucket now wants a ridiculous fee. I don't like these at all. Sli.mg and Eroshare also announced shutdowns as well. Img.yt is now limiting the amount of bandwidth and has popup ads (plus their compression sucks). Recently, Jcink had to remove a few recommended HTTPS websites from it's own website, due to the fact some of them are now charging.

This is no bueno to us. If anyone needs any help please let us know, we'd be happy to help transfer a lot of images.

Also that $400 a year fee is ridicilous. That'd pay for 6 months of my hosting bills. I have 1,047 active users right now.

I wouldn't recommend anything other than signing up for a JCINK forum and using it for storage. That's what I do for all my images, and it's totally reliable unless JCINK is down, in which case it's sort of a moot point. Plus, the File Manager allows for folders to organize things, which makes everything much simpler, supports HTTPS as of the HTTPS encryption beta, and preserves the file name in the url for easier access.

i think it's been mentioned before but i believe it's against TOS to register forums strictly for use as storage so i wouldn't recommend this at all.
