we hope you enjoy cttw
Hello everyone and welcome to Caution to the Wind (CTTW)! We're very excited to see you around and hope you're going to enjoy the new site as much as we've enjoyed building and finetuning it! As you can see, a good chunk of Caution has remained the same because we want to keep what makes Caution great. However, there are quite a few new features that we want to highlight and bring attention to. If you have any questions about the new features or anything regarding CTTW, don't hestitate to ask, either below, in the cbox, or by PMing a staffer.
The first thing you'll notice that's new is that we've incorporated challenges! These are a part of our levels for graphics and coding and will be starting in one month's time, giving members time to settle in and get comfortable before jumping into challenges.
You'll also see something called flower shops and bird houses in graphics and coding respectively. Going along with our flower and bird themes, the flower shops and bird houses and member-specific request threads. Say you love Member A's templates and want to request one yourself. Posting in the request forum is perfectly fine, but of course there's a chance Member A doesn't get to it in time and someone else fills the request. By posting in Member A's bird house thread, you're asking Member A specifically to fill a request for you. Members set their own rules for their houses/shops so if a member doesn't allow skin requests, that's their prerogative and you must abide by their limitations. You can find out more information about bird houses here and flower shops here.
Another addition on our boards is the introduction of a writing section. The writing gallery, unlike the graphics and coding galleries, isn't rankable, however we want members to be able to show off their writing! The library can be found within the writing gallery and this is where members post their applications, threads, stories, poems, any piece of writing they want to feature in their gallery. Our crash courses and guides have been condensed into writing + roleplay guides so check those our for more information on how to roleplay a specific type of character, or even if you're curious about how tumblr rps work!
We've also provided feedback options across the board for coding, graphics, and writing! Graphics and coding can be found within their specific gallery subforums and are labeled "graphics critique" and "coding critique" and writing is found on the index under "writing feedback". Please familiarize yourself with the rules since they operate a bit differently than how other resource sites handle critiques and feedback!
Lastly, you might see some additional fields for galleries and ranks on staffers' miniprofiles. These fields for graphics, coding, and writing, are ones that show up only if you create your own galleries and link them in the miniprofile! We've eliminated having fields show up with an N/A so make sure that when you edit your profile information, leave anything not applicable blank. Fill in only what you have galleries in and don't worry about the levels -- a staffer will adjust that for you!
As you can see, there's a lot of fun new things added to CTTW that we hope you'll enjoy! So immerse yourself in the excitement that is a brand new site and we hope you'll introduce yourself in our intro forums -- we can't wait to get to know all of you. Welcome!
