hey caution members! it's recently come to our attention via the official jcink forum that imgur is no longer allowing images from their website to be used on jcink boards. already, some images have not been showing up for members of these boards, meaning that they have had to be rehosted on another site and taken down from imgur completely. we know that this is incredibly frustrating, as a good majority of the resources that our members have posted on caution to the wind will have to be rehosted elsewhere and edited into these resource posts. it might to be a long process for those that have made icons or gifs, but we're looking into alternative sites to suggest to our members for rehosting. if any of you lovelies have a site that you use that isn't imgur, absolutely feel free to post them here in this topic for others to see! and if you'd like to read more about the imgur issues, you can find them here.
and now onto something a little less serious - the caution 2.0. board. we've had a couple members asking about accessing it. this is definitely something that we'll be able to work out for you guys, but we ask that you please PM one of the admins in the future so that we can get it done and/or send you specific resource posts that you might need to retrieve from the old board.
as always, if there are any questions, feel free to post them here or PM one of the admins or mods.
it's for any image on any jcink forum that has imgur in the url. randimg will also not work since they host via imgur.

i'm using signavatar right now and it works just fine. you have to register for the site, but it's free and doesn't require e-mail confirmation. it also does not host the images, you need to have them hosted somewhere else, but it allows you to compile multiple image urls into one url for the random alternation.

I've been using Tumblr if you have one! It only works to post in the <img src="HERE">. Just save drafts to your main blog or something. I've found it reliable for someone who doesn't always want to deal with image hosting sites xD
for anyone still looking at alternatives to randimg, i've tested out imgweave and it works for rotating avatars. there seems to be no limit to how many piles of images you can have, and it works pretty intuitively! you do have to host your images on an outside hosting site, though, so that's about the only difference so far.
I see a few people suggestion tumblr as an alternative and I would actually caution against that, as I've had a LOT of images disappear on me when hotlinking from there. (Which is actually why I started uploading exclusively to imgur in the first place, sigh.)
